A new expedition cruise focused on photography will connect Iceland and East Greenland as part of a wider Arctic programme scheduled for 2027. As reported by The Traveler, the itinerary, announced by Aurora Expeditions, will run for 11 days from July 31 to August 10, operating round-trip from Reykjavík. Passengers are expected to explore fjords, glaciers and coastal landscapes using small inflatable boats, with operators aiming for up to two landings or excursions per day, weather permitting. The itinerary also includes onboard workshops and guidance led by photography specialists. The voyage will take place aboard the Sylvia Earle, a purpose-built vessel carrying around 130 passengers and equipped for polar conditions. Features include reinforced hull design, observation areas and facilities for launching multiple Zodiac craft. The sailing forms part of Aurora Expeditions’ Arctic & Beyond 2027 programme, which includes 25 voyages across regions such as Greenland, Iceland and Svalbard. The late July and early August schedule coincides with peak Arctic summer, offering extended daylight for photography.
