CIE Tours Honours Icelandic Tourism Operators

Tour operators and hospitality providers in Iceland were recognised on 24 February at the CIE Tours Awards of Excellence, held at MAR Seafood Reykjavík. The ceremony was organised by CIE Tours and marked the second time the awards have taken place in Iceland. What's the Story? CIE Tours' Awards of Excellence According to a press release, the awards are based on feedback from approximately 1,000 travellers who visit Iceland each year through the company, primarily from the United States. Gold Awards were presented across five categories, including: Best Overall Hotel (Fosshotel Reykjavík) Best Overall Visit (Blue Lagoon) Best Overall Lunch (Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon) Best Hotel Service (Fosshotel Reykholt) Merit Awards were granted to providers achieving over 90% customer satisfaction. Among the winners: Glaumbær Museum, Lava Centre, Möðrudalur Farm, Bjarteyjarsandur Farm, Secret Lagoon, Skógar Folk Museum, Vök Baths, Friðheimar Tomato Farm , Sel-Hotel Mývatn, and Eldhestar Horse Farm “With these awards, we want to honour the companies that provide our customers with outstanding service and contribute to an enjoyable stay in Iceland,” said Stephen Cotter, CEO of CIE Tours. “It has truly been a pleasure to present the awards here in Iceland, now for the second time.
