A few managed to travel yesterday, while most passengers will be flying today or tomorrow. An orange weather warning had been issued for much of the day, with a storm impacting the country’s transport network. However, the situation improved later, and by yesterday afternoon, the flight schedule was largely back on track. Keflavík Airport remained open throughout the storm. ISAVIA’s representative Guðjón Helgason noted that “airports like Keflavík are always open” to accommodate emergency flights, despite the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions. Another Spell of Bad Weather Unfortunately, further bad weather is expected today, with snowstorms and strong winds affecting several regions, specifically Reykjanes Peninsula, Snæfellsnes Peninsula and Westfjords. Safe Travel is warning of limited visibility and difficult driving conditions on the roads from Reykjavík to Borgarnes and Borgarnes to Blönduós. While most international flights should operate as usual, domestic services to Ísafjörður have been cancelled.
