Icelandic Singer Laufey Wins Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at 2026 Grammys

Icelandic singer-songwriter Laufey has won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 2026 Grammys has secured her second Grammy Award in the same category for her album A Matter of Time. The 68th Annual Grammy Awards were held yesterday, Sunday, in Los Angeles, where the 26-year-old artist was recognised in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category. What's the Story? Stylistically, she blends jazz pop, classical and traditional influences in her work and has risen to international recognition in recent years. At the ceremony, she used her acceptance speech to highlight the importance of arts education, saying: “I owe everything to my music education, to my arts education...we cannot cut arts funding, it’s so important. What you all do here is so important. I love you all so much.” The Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category this year included nominees such as Laila Biali for Wintersongs, Jennifer Hudson for The Gift of Love, Elton John & Brandi Carlile for Who Believes in Angels?, Lady Gaga for Harlequin and Barbra Streisand for The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two. A Matter of Time was released in August 2025 through Vingolf Recordings and AWAL.
