The Independence Party and Viðreisn follow closely, with 13.7% and 13.5% respectively. Other parties recorded lower levels of support, including the People’s Party (7.7%), the Progressive Party (5.9%), the Pirate Party (3.6%), the Left-Green Movement (3.3%), the Socialist Party (2.4%) and the Democratic Party (0.2%). The findings differ from a Maskína poll published earlier this week, which showed different rankings among the largest parties. According to Prósent, support for the Social Democrats is higher among women than men, while the Centre Party attracts more male than female voters. Differences also emerged across age groups, with Viðreisn strongest among those aged 35 to 54, and the Pirate Party performing best among voters aged 18 to 24. Regional patterns were also identified. The Social Democrats and Viðreisn recorded stronger backing in Reykjavík, while the Centre Party performed better in neighbouring municipalities. The People’s Party and Progressive Party showed higher support in rural areas. The online survey was conducted between 21 January and 16 February 2026, based on a sample of 3,900 respondents with a 50% response rate.
