A powerful north-westerly system is forecast to move in, bringing strong winds and severe weather to the north-east. Travel conditions are likely to be hazardous, and disruption is anticipated throughout eastern areas. By the afternoon, winds are set to intensify further in East Iceland and the Eastfjords.
