The newly re-established Akureyri-based airline Nice Air aims to start flights from North Iceland to Copenhagen in February, 2026, RÚV reports. Ticket sales started on December 17.
On December 10, German businessman and Nice Air CEO Martin Michael announced his plans on restoring the then-defunct airline. The details of the operations were shared at a press conference in Akureyri on December 16.
The new company is financed largely by Martin’s private equity.
According to Martin, the new Nice Air will differ from the old airline by renting airplanes from foreign partner companies, thereby increasing flexibility. For the Copenhagen route, Nice Air has negotiated a deal with Danish charter airline Air Seven.
