Air travel in Iceland has been disrupted after powerful winds linked to a passing storm forced flight cancellations and delays at Keflavík Airport. As reported by RÚV, three morning departures operated by Icelandair to Amsterdam, Paris and Helsinki were cancelled, while at least ten additional flights were delayed until around midday. Services between Akureyri and international destinations are also operating normally. The Icelandic Meteorological Office has issued yellow weather warnings across large parts of the country, including South Iceland, Breiðafjörður, the Westfjords, Strandir, the north-west and north-east regions, as well as the Central Highlands. The alerts are expected to remain in place until 16:00 local time. Conditions are expected to ease tomorrow, with lighter winds and sleet or hail forecast in many areas.
