Challenges & Prizes The launch of Tiptoe Reykjavík follows the European Travel Commission’s Reykjavík Declaration and reflects wider discussion about balancing tourism growth with local interests. “Conscious, responsible tourism is essential for our city, as it is for the rest of the world,” said Inga Hlín Pálsdóttir, CEO of Visit Reykjavík. “Of course, this is an ongoing conversation between travellers and locals, and it will take investment from the global community, but we believe this shift starts with individuals and the small choices they’re encouraged to make along the way.” Visitors are invited to take part in the Tiptoe Reykjavík Challenge, which encourages exploration of lesser-known areas and engagement with local communities. Participants who register at tiptoereykjavik.is will be entered into a draw on 31 August 2026. The prize includes return flights with Icelandair, accommodation at Grandi by Center Hotels, dining at Restaurant Grandi, a Reykjavík City Card, airport transfers with Flybus by Icelandia, and admission to Sky Lagoon and the Lava Show.
