Birgir Örn Birgisson, regional manager at Orkubú Vestfjarði in Ísafjörður, explained that the bad weather was to blame for the line failure. When the line was reconnected, it tripped again shortly after, but Birgisson confirmed that backup power remained in place, preventing another outage. While the Dýrafjörður area was without power for about 30 minutes, the situation was quickly resolved, and electricity was restored. Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain patient as Orkubú Vestfjarði works to ensure power remains stable. Birgisson has also encouraged residents to report any further power issues tonight.
