Work is continuing on the luxury Höfða Lodge in northern Grenivík after British investor Russ DeLeon took full ownership of the project. As reported by Morgunblaðið, contractors are currently on site completing the final stages of construction at the hotel, which sits on the headland of Þengilhöfði overlooking the fjord Eyjafjörður. Local officials say most of the building has already been completed, although several interior spaces still require finishing. The project has faced significant setbacks in recent years. The lodge had originally been expected to welcome guests in 2023, but construction delays and rising costs pushed the timeline back. Once complete, the 6,000-square-metre development will include 42 guest rooms and accommodation for 28 staff members.
